Knicks to Visit Fort Dix on Tuesday
In a show of support for our nation’s soldiers, the New York Knicks will be making a visit to the Fort Dix military base in Fort Dix, New Jersey on Tuesday, April 22 from 1-4p.m. The Knicks City Dancers will perform and have an autograph and photo session as well. The New York Knicks Groove Truck and staff will be on hand with interactive games, contests (to win autographed items), giveaways and music throughout the afternoon.
Fort Dix is a major training and mobilization center for the Reserve Component soldiers - the Army Reserve and National Guard. More than 25,000 soldiers have swept through Fort Dix with new units arriving weekly for mobilization since September 11,2001. The post is actively engaged with training and deploying soldiers for the following missions:
- Operation Enduring Freedom -- the Global War on Terrorism
- Operation Noble Eagle -- the Homeland Defense mission in the continental U.S.
- Peacekeeping operations ongoing in Bosnia.
